Your new place has a pre-installed security system
Many times after you close on a new house, you’ll find that the previous owners left a home security system. All the components function well, are hung in the best spaces, and are ready to go. In this example, all you might have to do is to call and set up a new contract. A Vivint professional will still come to your home to ensure there are no integration issues, and they may offer options on an upgrade or two. It's a fast appointment, and you can have your monitoring set up without having a bill for any new alarms and cameras -- unless you add on.
The outgoing owners can give an existing Vivint contract to your family for a small transfer cost to make your life easier. If the previous owners are moving to an apartment complex or smaller home, you keeping the Vivint contract may be an addendum of the sale.
You need to move and bring your old devices with you
You might need to bring your favorite home security components with you to a new house when you move. It should be pretty simple to accomplish, as most alarms and smart devices are portable. You can uninstall each component by yourself or use a professional installer to dismantle your devices. Then our installers will set up the same components -- and any new things you want -- in the new home. Your home security contract will keep the same.
